Super Bowl LVII, which took place on Sunday, February 12th at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ, brought a frenzy of business aviation activity to the region in the days leading up to the big game!
Increased traffic was observed at 8 main airports serving the Phoenix metropolitan area: KPHX, KSDL, KDVT, KGEU, KGYR, KCHD, KFFZ, KIWA. Business aviation traffic at these airports started increasing on Tuesday, February 7th and peaked on Friday, February 10th.
Stat of the Week: In the days leading up to the Super Bowl, Scottsdale Airport (KSDL) saw 43% of the business aviation flight activity in the region. The 2nd busiest airport was Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (KPHX), which saw 26% of the region’s activity. In a week over week comparison of business aviation flight activity, KSDL saw an increase of 52.5% and KPHX saw an increase of 86.6%.
