The Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), a subsidiary of ARGUS International, Inc., announced today that it has launched a FAA Part 107 compliant version of its Small UAS Ground School online course.
This online course prepares aspiring remote pilots to successfully pass the Aeronautical Knowledge Test (AKT) leading to the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC), while also delivering additional ground and flight safety education that is continually ranked as the industry’s best in class. The new course is available online and through USI’s partner network.
This self-paced, 24-hour course is much more than a Part 107 test preparation course. This ground school supplies practical and operational knowledge for remote pilots and consists of eight online modules which meet and exceed the required knowledge areas for the FAA’s RPC AKT: Origins & Evolution of UAS, Robotic Aircraft, Meteorology & Weather Elements, FAA Part 107 Regulations & Compliance, Human Factors in UAS, Crew Resource Management, Making Safe Decisions, and Professionalism. Unlike memorization based courses designed to assist passing a test, the USI sUAS ground school will actually prepare new part 107 certificate applicants and refresh part 61 certificate holders with the knowledge foundation needed for a successful career in the UAS sector.
“Our new online training for remote pilots seeking Part 107 certification is another example of how USI continues to offer exceptional value to our customers seeking not only to meet FAA minimum regulatory requirements, but exceed them with our flagship safety programs. This training is fully compliant with Part 107, and prepares students to pass the remote pilot aeronautical knowledge test”, stated Aaron Greenwald, President of the Unmanned Safety Institute. “Through the adoption and modification of time-honored aviation safety practices we deliver proven aviation safety methodologies into our educational programs to offer our customers the world’s best unmanned aviation safety training. With thousands of customers around the world and growing, there is a reason why USI is the gold standard in UAS flight safety,” remarked Greenwald.
The course is priced at $79 per module, or bundled at $499 (a savings of $130) and is available at https://usi.matrixlms.com/visitor_catalog_class/show/49548. Upon completion of the course, individuals will receive a Certificate of Training from USI, valid for 24 months, which can be presented to leading aviation insurance providers inexchange for discounted insurance premiums.
